LONDON (Reuters) – Oil costs hit a six-week excessive on Thursday as oil rigs within the Gulf of Mexico have been evacuated forward of a storm, whereas an incident with a British tanker within the Center East highlighted tensions within the area.

Brent crude futures have been up 32 cents at $67.33 a barrel by 1153 GMT. Earlier within the session they hit their highest since Might 30 at $67.65, after ending Wednesday up 4.4%.
