(Reuters) – A storm churning within the Gulf of Mexico and aimed toward water-logged New Orleans was anticipated to make landfall as the primary Atlantic hurricane of the 2019 season by late Friday or early Saturday, forecasters mentioned.

The storm, which forecasters mentioned may escalate to a tropical storm by late Thursday, had most sustained winds of 35 miles per hour (55 kph) as of Thursday morning, the Nationwide Climate Service mentioned.
